**Maconal Grealy** (born 6 March 2002),[2] known as **Mac**, is an [Australian](/source/Australians) [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) player who plays for the [Western Force](/source/Western_Force) in the [Super Rugby](/source/Super_Rugby). He previously played for the [Queensland Reds](/source/Queensland_Reds) in the same competition, making his professional debut for the team in the 2021 [Super Rugby Trans-Tasman](/source/Super_Rugby_Trans-Tasman). His playing position is [wing](/source/Wing_(rugby_union)) or [fullback](/source/Fullback_(rugby_union)).

## Career

Grealy was born in [Toowoomba](/source/Toowoomba) in [Queensland](/source/Queensland)'s [Darling Downs](/source/Darling_Downs) [region](/source/Regions_of_Queensland), [Australia](/source/Australia).[3] He attended [Downlands College](/source/Downlands_College) and played junior rugby for the [Souths Kookaburras Toowoomba](/source/Darling_Downs_Rugby_Union).[3]

Grealy was part of the [Downlands College](/source/Downlands_College) first XV and represented for the Australian Schoolboys team. His first professional contract had him named in the Reds squad for the [2021 Super Rugby AU season](/source/2021_Super_Rugby_AU_season).[4][5] He made his debut for the Reds in Round 4 of the [Super Rugby Trans-Tasman](/source/Super_Rugby_Trans-Tasman) competition against the [Blues](/source/Blues_(Super_Rugby)), starting at fullback as a late replacement for [Bryce Hegarty](/source/Bryce_Hegarty).[6]

He signed a two-year contract with [Perth](/source/Perth)-based [Super Rugby](/source/Super_Rugby) rivals, the [Western Force](/source/Western_Force), in October 2024.[7] He made his debut for the team in the [first round](/source/List_of_2025_Super_Rugby_Pacific_matches#Round_1) of the [2025 season](/source/2025_Super_Rugby_Pacific_season) against the [Moana Pasifika](/source/Moana_Pasifika), starting at fullback.[8] Grealy scored a try in the Force's one-point home victory.[9] Grealy went on to play in every fixture for the Force in 2025.[10] Between [rounds twelve](/source/List_of_2025_Super_Rugby_Pacific_matches#Round_12) and [fourteen](/source/List_of_2025_Super_Rugby_Pacific_matches#Round_14), Grealy was moved from his usual position of fullback (No. 15) to the [left wing](/source/Rugby_union_positions#Wing) (No. 11) to make way for Australian rugby veteran [Kurtley Beale](/source/Kurtley_Beale), whom returned from an achilles tendon injury.[11][12] Overall, Grealy's 2025 season was one of his best to date, scoring six tries,[10] the third-highest for the team.
