**Multiple inositol polyphosphate phosphatase 1** is an [enzyme](/source/Enzyme) that in humans is encoded by the *MINPP1* [gene](/source/Gene).[1][2]

MINPP1 [hydrolyzes](/source/Hydrolyzes) the abundant metabolites [inositol pentakisphosphate](/source/Inositol_pentakisphosphate) and [inositol hexakisphosphate](/source/Inositol_hexakisphosphate) and, like [PTEN](/source/PTEN_(gene)) (MIM 601728), has the ability to remove 3-phosphate from [inositol phosphate](/source/Inositol_phosphate) substrates.[supplied by OMIM][2]
