**MEPs Against Cancer** is a group of 23 [Members of the European Parliament](/source/Member_of_the_European_Parliament) who aim to "promote action on cancer as an [EU](/source/European_Union) priority and harness European health policy to that end" and to encourage every country to develop a national plan for combating cancer.[1][2]

During the [2019–2024 parliament](/source/Ninth_European_Parliament), the group was chaired by Cypriot MEP [Loukas Fourlas](/source/Loukas_Fourlas) and French MEP [Véronique Trillet-Lenoir](/source/V%C3%A9ronique_Trillet-Lenoir) until her death in 2023.[1][3][4][5] The members of the group came from 25 [EU member states](/source/Member_state_of_the_European_Union) and all [EU parliament groups](/source/Political_groups_of_the_European_Parliament).[6]

In the incumbent [2024–2029 parliament](/source/Tenth_European_Parliament), the group has 23 MEPs from 19 member states.[7] Croatian MEP [Romana Jerković](/source/Romana_Jerkovi%C4%87) is the current chair of the group.[7]
