On December 23, 2010, while en route from the [Port of Vancouver](/source/Port_of_Vancouver), [Canada](/source/Canada), to [Zhanjiang](/source/Zhanjiang), [China](/source/China), the ship ran into rough weather between [Hawaii](/source/Hawaii) and [Midway Islands](/source/Midway_Islands), causing some containers of [uranium concentrate](/source/Yellowcake) to open. On January 3, when [Cameco](/source/Cameco) became aware of the spill, it ordered the ship to return to Canada; the ship docked off [Ladysmith](/source/Ladysmith%2C_British_Columbia), where the spill was inspected by Cameco, [Transport Canada](/source/Transport_Canada), and [Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission](/source/Canadian_Nuclear_Safety_Commission).
