''Lynchius'' are relatively small frogs (snout–vent length up to {{convert|43|mm|abbr=on}} in ''[Lynchius flavomaculatus](/source/Lynchius_flavomaculatus)'') with a narrow head, not as wide as body. Skin is smooth.<ref name="Hedges et al. 2008"/>
