**Lumphini** ([Thai](/source/Thai_language): ลุมพินี, pronounced [\[lum.pʰíː.nīː\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Thai)), is a *khwaeng* (subdistrict) of [Pathum Wan District](/source/Pathum_Wan_District), in Bangkok. In 2019, it had a population of 18,345.

## Geography

Lumphini is a subdistrict located in the easternmost part of the district. The area is bordered by neighbouring subdistricts (from north clockwise): [Makkasan](/source/Makkasan) in [Ratchathewi District](/source/Ratchathewi_District) ([Khlong Saen Saep](/source/Khlong_Saen_Saep) is a boundary), [Khlong Toei Nuea](/source/Khlong_Toei_Nuea) in [Watthana District](/source/Watthana_District) and [Khlong Toei](/source/Khlong_Toei_subdistrict) in [Khlong Toei District](/source/Khlong_Toei_District) (Maenam railway line is a boundary), [Thung Maha Mek](/source/Thung_Maha_Mek) in [Sathon District](/source/Sathon_District), and [Si Lom](/source/Si_Lom_subdistrict) in [Bang Rak District](/source/Bang_Rak_District) ([Rama IV Road](/source/Rama_IV_Road) is a boundary), [Pathum Wan](/source/Pathum_Wan_Subdistrict) in its district ([Ratchadamri Road](/source/Ratchadamri_Road) is a boundary).
