# Lumley Branch

**Lumley Branch** is a [stream](/source/Stream) in [Dade County](/source/Dade_County,_Missouri) in the [U.S. state](/source/U.S._state) of [Missouri](/source/Missouri).[1] It is a [tributary](/source/Tributary) of the [Sac River](/source/Sac_River).[2]

The stream [headwaters](/source/Headwaters) arise just north of [U.S. Route 160](/source/U.S._Route_160) east of [Everton](/source/Everton,_Missouri) at [37°20′35″N 93°40′12″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=37_20_35_N_93_40_12_W) and it flows north approximately five miles to join the Sac River northwest of the community of [Comet](/source/Comet,_Missouri) at [37°24′53″N 93°39′19″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=37_24_53_N_93_39_19_W).[1][2]

Lumley Branch most likely was named after William Lumley, an early settler.[3]
