**Lukman Avaran** (born 22 May 1990) is an Indian actor who primarily works in [Malayalam cinema](/source/Malayalam_cinema). His debut film is *[Dayom Panthrandum](/source/Dayom_Panthrandum)* (2013) was the first theatre-released film in his career.[1] Lukman acted the lead role in the film *[Operation Java](/source/Operation_Java)* (2021) directed by [Tharun Moorthy](/source/Tharun_Moorthy).[2] He was mainly noted for his performances in the films [*Shibu*](/source/Shibu_(film)) (2019),[3] *[Virus](/source/Virus_(2019_film))* (2019), *[Thallumaala](/source/Thallumaala)* (2022),[4] and *[Saudi Vellakka](/source/Saudi_Vellakka)* (2022).[5]

## Early and personal life

Lukman Avaran was born in [Changaramkulam](/source/Changaramkulam), [Malappuram](/source/Malappuram_district), [Kerala](/source/Kerala), to Koladikkal Avaran and Haleema.[6] He is a [B.Tech.](/source/Bachelor_of_Technology) graduate from the [Royal College of Engineering & Technology](/source/Royal_College_of_Engineering_%26_Technology), in [Chermanangad](/source/Chermanangad), [Thrissur](/source/Thrissur_district). He married Jumaima on 20 February 2022.[7][2][8]

## Career

His acting career was started by a short film Kittuo (2013).[1] His first silver appearance was *[Dayom Panthrandum](/source/Dayom_Panthrandum)* (2013) Written by Harshad PK and [Muhsin Parari](/source/Muhsin_Parari), Directed by Harshad PK and this movie wasn't released in theatres. His first notable performance was in the movie *[KL10 Patthu](/source/KL_10_Patthu)* (2015) Written & Directed by [Muhsin Parari](/source/Muhsin_Parari).[9]

In 2019, his role in *[Unda](/source/Unda_(film))* of a police officer from an Adivasi community, Biju Kumar[1] was noticed by the audience.[10] In 2021, *[Operation Java](/source/Operation_Java)* Written & Directed by Tharun Moorthy, Lukman had a major role as Vinaya Dasan along with [Balu Varghese](/source/Balu_Varghese).[11][12] In the following years, he performed many supporting characters in many films. He played pivotal roles in *[Thallumaala](/source/Thallumaala)* (2022) along with [Tovino Thomas](/source/Tovino_Thomas) by [Khalid Rahman](/source/Khalid_Rahman)[4][13] and also in the Tharun Moorthy's second film *[Saudi Vellakka](/source/Saudi_Vellakka)* (2022) along with [Binu Pappu](/source/Binu_Pappu).[14][15] The film *Saudi Vellakka* was screened under Indian Panorama segment of [IFFI 53.](/source/53rd_International_Film_Festival_of_India)[16]
