# Luke Steyn

**Luke Henri Steyn** (born 7 June 1993) is a Zimbabwean [alpine skier](/source/Alpine_skiing).[1] Steyn competed for Zimbabwe at the [2014 Winter Olympics](/source/2014_Winter_Olympics) in [Sochi](/source/Sochi), becoming the first Winter Olympian to represent the country.[2][3][4][5] He finished in 57th place in the [men's giant slalom event](/source/Alpine_skiing_at_the_2014_Winter_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_giant_slalom), and [did not finish](/source/Did_not_finish) in the [men's slalom event](/source/Alpine_skiing_at_the_2014_Winter_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_slalom).[6]

Steyn was born in [Harare](/source/Harare), but left at the age of two to [Switzerland](/source/Switzerland), where he eventually was exposed to [snow](/source/Snow) and skiing.[7][8] He is a dual citizen of Zimbabwe and the United Kingdom.[9]

Steyn graduated from the [University of Colorado](/source/University_of_Colorado) in 2016 with a [Bachelor of Business Administration](/source/Bachelor_of_Business_Administration) and received a [master's degree](/source/Master's_degree) in real estate finance from the [University of Cambridge](/source/University_of_Cambridge) in 2018. He is also a student ambassador at the [London Business School](/source/London_Business_School). He has lived in Zimbabwe, Switzerland, Monaco, France, Italy, Austria, the United States, and South Africa.[10]
