He is the founding director of a drama training workshop and agency for young actors in [Nottingham](/source/Nottingham) called Inspire Academy. ## Early life and education Luke Gell is from [Nottingham](/source/Nottingham). He trained at [Central Independent Television](/source/Central_Independent_Television)'s Television Workshop from the age of 11, where he was once described as a "young [Peter Kay](/source/Peter_Kay)".[1] ## Career Gell has been acting on television since the age of 11, beginning with a role in *[Bernard's Watch](/source/Bernard's_Watch)*, which was filmed in Nottingham.[2] He also appeared in the long-running hospital dramas *[Casualty](/source/Casualty_(TV_series))*[3] and *[Holby City](/source/Holby_City)* (2014),[4] and in the sitcom *[Still Open All Hours](/source/Still_Open_All_Hours)* (2018).[2] He joined the cast of *[Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps](/source/Two_Pints_of_Lager_and_a_Packet_of_Crisps)* in 2008 following the departure of [Ralf Little](/source/Ralf_Little), appearing in three series up until the show's eventual cancellation in 2011.
