**Luciana Carro** (born March 23, 1981) is a Canadian [actress](/source/Actress) best known for her appearances on the television series *[Battlestar Galactica](/source/Battlestar_Galactica_(2004_TV_series))*, *[Caprica](/source/Caprica)*, and *[Falling Skies](/source/Falling_Skies)* and in movies such as *[Two for the Money](/source/Two_for_the_Money_(2005_film))* and *[Dr. Dolittle 3](/source/Dr._Dolittle_3)*.[1]

## Early life

Carro was born in [Toronto, Ontario](/source/Toronto), Canada. She was encouraged to act by her parents as a way of overcoming her shyness.[1] With the encouragement of her high school drama teacher Gerry Campbell (father of [Neve Campbell](/source/Neve_Campbell)), she attended theater school.[1]

## Career

Carro began her career with roles in *[The Chris Isaak Show](/source/The_Chris_Isaak_Show)*, *[Smallville](/source/Smallville)*, and *[The L Word](/source/The_L_Word)*. These led to a part in *[Battlestar Galactica](/source/Battlestar_Galactica_(2004_TV_series))* [TV series](/source/TV_series) as [Louanne "Kat" Katraine](/source/Louanne_Katraine). Like many characters, Kat was intended as a one-off, appearing as a trainee Viper pilot, but producers liked Carro's performance and made Kat a recurring role. Katraine became a rival to [Starbuck](/source/Kara_Thrace) and at times the *Galactica'*s [CAG](/source/Carrier_air_wing#Organization).[1]

Carro subsequently starred in *[Dr. Dolittle 3](/source/Dr._Dolittle_3)* and alongside [Al Pacino](/source/Al_Pacino) in *[Two for the Money](/source/Two_for_the_Money_(2005_film))*.
