**Lucas de Souza Mombra Rosa** (born 20 October 2001), commonly known as **Lucas Mezenga**, is a Brazilian professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [centre-back](/source/Defender_(association_football)#Centre-back) for [Al Orooba](/source/Al_Orooba_Club).

## Club career

Born in [Rio de Janeiro](/source/Rio_de_Janeiro), Lucas Mezenga was a [Nova Iguaçu](/source/Nova_Igua%C3%A7u_Futebol_Clube) youth graduate. He made his first team debut on 4 July 2020, starting in a 1–1 [Campeonato Carioca](/source/Campeonato_Carioca) away draw against [America-RJ](/source/America_Football_Club_(RJ)).

On 7 June 2021, Lucas Mezenga moved on loan to [Botafogo](/source/Botafogo_de_Futebol_e_Regatas) on loan, being initially assigned to the under-20 squad.[1] He asked to leave the club in September after having an offer from [Emirates Club](/source/Emirates_Club),[2] but the move was denied in the following month.[3] On 13 December, he still signed a permanent deal with *Fogão*.[4]

Lucas Mezenga scored his first senior goal on 7 March 2022, netting the second in a 5–0 home routing of [Volta Redonda](/source/Volta_Redonda_Futebol_Clube).[5] He made his [Série A](/source/Campeonato_Brasileiro_S%C3%A9rie_A) debut on 17 July, coming on as a second-half [substitute](/source/Substitute_(association_football)) for fellow debutant [DG](/source/Douglas_da_Silva_Teixeira) in a 1–0 away loss against [Atlético Mineiro](/source/Clube_Atl%C3%A9tico_Mineiro).

On 21 August 2023, [Liga Portugal 2](/source/Liga_Portugal_2) side [Tondela](/source/C.D._Tondela) announced the signing of Lucas Mezenga on a season-long [loan](/source/Loan_(sports)) from Botafogo.[6]
