**Lucas Chaves** (born 9 August 1995) is an Argentine professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [goalkeeper](/source/Goalkeeper_(association_football)) for [Super League Greece](/source/Super_League_Greece) club [Panathinaikos](/source/Panathinaikos_F.C.), on loan from [Argentinos Juniors](/source/Argentinos_Juniors).[3][4]

## Career

Prior to starting his professional career with [Argentinos Juniors](/source/Argentinos_Juniors),[4][5] he spent time with the youth teams.[6] He first appeared in the Argentinos first-team in 2016 when he was an unused substitute for the [Argentine Primera División](/source/Argentine_Primera_Divisi%C3%B3n) matches against [Huracán](/source/Club_Atl%C3%A9tico_Hurac%C3%A1n), [San Martín](/source/San_Mart%C3%ADn_de_San_Juan), [Newell's Old Boys](/source/Newell's_Old_Boys), [Racing Club](/source/Racing_Club_de_Avellaneda) and [Vélez Sarsfield](/source/Club_Atl%C3%A9tico_V%C3%A9lez_Sarsfield).[4] He made his professional debut on 5 June 2017 in [Primera B Nacional](/source/Primera_B_Nacional) versus [Boca Unidos](/source/Boca_Unidos).[4] Four months later, Chaves made his top-flight debut in a draw with [River Plate](/source/Club_Atl%C3%A9tico_River_Plate).[4][7][8]

On 9 January 2024, Chaves was signed by [Super League Greece](/source/Super_League_Greece) club [Panetolikos](/source/Panetolikos_F.C.), on a two–year loan. [9]. After his loan with Panetolikos ended, on 8 January 2026, Chaves was loaned out once again, this time to [Panathinaikos](/source/Panathinaikos_F.C.) until the end of the season.[10]
