**Luca Roman** (born 10 December 1985) is an Italian Olympic [eventing](/source/Eventing) rider.[1] He competed at the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/2016_Summer_Olympics) in [Rio de Janeiro](/source/Rio_de_Janeiro) where he finished 40th in the [individual](/source/Equestrian_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Individual_eventing) and 9th in the [team](/source/Equestrian_at_the_2016_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Team_eventing) competition.

Roman also participated at the [2015 European Eventing Championships](/source/2015_European_Eventing_Championships), where he placed 6th with the Italian team in the team event and finished 15th individually.

His brother [Pietro](/source/Pietro_Roman) also participated at the 2016 Olympics. They became the second set of Roman brothers that represented Italy at the Olympics, as their father [Federico](/source/Federico_Roman) and their uncle [Mauro](/source/Mauro_Roman) were part of the Italian eventing squad that took team silver at the [1980 Games](/source/1980_Summer_Olympics) in [Moscow](/source/Moscow). Federico also won an individual gold at the Games.[2]
