**Lower Potamus**, **Potamus Hypenerthen** or **Potamos Hypenerthen** ([Ancient Greek](/source/Ancient_Greek_language): Ποταμός ὑπένερθεν), was a [deme](/source/Deme) of [ancient Attica](/source/Ancient_Attica). It lay on the east coast north of [Thoricus](/source/Thoricus), and was once a populous place: it was celebrated as containing the sepulchre of [Ion](/source/Ion_(mythology)).[1][2][3][4]

Lower Potamus is tentatively located at [Panepistemioupolis](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Panepistemioupolis&action=edit&redlink=1).[5][6]
