# Lower Peover

**Lower Peover** is a village in the [civil parish](/source/Civil_parishes_in_England) of **Nether Peover**[1] in the unitary authority of [Cheshire West and Chester](/source/Cheshire_West_and_Chester) and the ceremonial county of [Cheshire](/source/Cheshire), England, approximately 6 miles east of [Northwich](/source/Northwich) and 4 miles south of [Knutsford](/source/Knutsford). The boundary of the civil parish deviates slightly to include Lower Peover in Nether Peover and not the adjacent civil parish of [Peover Inferior](/source/Peover_Inferior).[1] The population of the civil parish at the [2011 census](/source/United_Kingdom_Census_2011) was 415.[2]

Lower Peover was also where [George S. Patton](/source/George_S._Patton) held meetings with the senior members of the British war cabinet where they discussed plans about many military operations, most notably [D-day](/source/D-day).[citation needed]
