# Lower Paeania

**Lower Paeania** or **Paiania Hypenerthen** ([Ancient Greek](/source/Ancient_Greek_language): Παιανία ὑπένερθεν) was a [deme](/source/Deme) of [ancient Attica](/source/Ancient_Attica); it was located on the eastern side of [Hymettus](/source/Hymettus). One of two demoi named [Paeania](/source/Paeania).

The site of Lower Paeania is located on the eastern outskirts of modern [Liopesi](/source/Liopesi).[1][2]
