**Louis Wessels** ([German](/source/German_language): *Weßels*; born 27 August 1998) is a German [tennis](/source/Tennis) player. He has a career-high [ATP](/source/Association_of_Tennis_Professionals) singles ranking of world No. 267, achieved in July 2022.

## Tennis career

On the junior tour, Wessels has a career high ITF junior ranking of 17 achieved in May 2016. Wessels has reached the doubles semifinals at three of the four junior grand slams, including the [2015 Australian Open](/source/2015_Australian_Open), [2015 US Open](/source/2015_US_Open_(tennis)) and the [2016 Wimbledon Championships](/source/2016_Wimbledon_Championships).

Wessels made his ATP main draw debut at the [2016 German Open](/source/2016_German_Open), where he upset [Steven Diez](/source/Steven_Diez) in the first round. This victory made him the youngest player to win a main draw match on the [2016 ATP World Tour](/source/2016_ATP_World_Tour) at that time.[1]

Ranked No. 347, he qualified for his home tournament at the [2023 Halle Open](/source/2023_Halle_Open) having received a wildcard for the qualifying competition.[2]
