**Louis Edward O'Dea** (died 19 February 1955) was an Irish politician and solicitor. He was first elected to [Dáil Éireann](/source/D%C3%A1il_%C3%89ireann) as a [Sinn Féin](/source/Sinn_F%C3%A9in) [Teachta Dála](/source/Teachta_D%C3%A1la) (TD) for the [Galway](/source/Galway_(D%C3%A1il_constituency)) constituency at the [1923 general election](/source/1923_Irish_general_election).[1] He did not take his seat in the Dáil due to Sinn Féin's [abstentionist](/source/Abstentionism) policy. He did not contest [June 1927 general election](/source/June_1927_Irish_general_election).[2] He was an unsuccessful candidate for the [Galway West](/source/Galway_West) constituency at the [1938 general election](/source/1938_Irish_general_election).[2] In 1944 as a member of [Fianna Fáil](/source/Fianna_F%C3%A1il), he was elected to the [5th Seanad](/source/5th_Seanad) on the [Cultural and Educational Panel](/source/Cultural_and_Educational_Panel).[1]
