**Louis Even** (March 23, 1885, [Montfort-sur-Meu](/source/Montfort-sur-Meu) – September 27, 1974) was a lay Christian leader and publisher who founded the [social credit](/source/Social_credit) movement in [Quebec](/source/Quebec). He co-founded and led the [Pilgrims of Saint Michael](/source/Pilgrims_of_Saint_Michael), better known as the white berets, with [Gilberte Côté-Mercier](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gilberte_C%C3%B4t%C3%A9-Mercier&action=edit&redlink=1) and was a founder of the [Union of Electors](/source/Union_of_Electors), a predecessor of [Réal Caouette](/source/R%C3%A9al_Caouette)'s *[Ralliement créditiste](/source/Ralliement_cr%C3%A9ditiste)*.

In 1940, he ran for a seat in the [House of Commons of Canada](/source/House_of_Commons_of_Canada) as a [New Democracy](/source/New_Democracy_(Canada)) candidate in [Lake St-John—Roberval](/source/Lake_St-John%E2%80%94Roberval) and came in third with over 3,000 votes.
