# Long-tailed thrush

The **long-tailed thrush** (***Zoothera dixoni***) is a species of [bird](/source/Bird) in the family [Turdidae](/source/Turdidae). It is found from the central and eastern Himalayas to south-central and south-western China.[1] Its natural [habitats](/source/Habitat) are subtropical or tropical moist [montane forests](/source/Montane_forest) and subtropical or tropical high-altitude [shrubland](/source/Shrubland).

The scientific name, *Zoothera dixoni*, is named after ornithologist [Charles Dixon](/source/Charles_Dixon_(ornithologist)).
