"**Lonesome Town**" is a song written by [Baker Knight](/source/Baker_Knight). A version sung by [Ricky Nelson](/source/Ricky_Nelson) became a [hit single](/source/Hit_single) in the United States, reaching No. 7 on the [*Billboard* Hot 100](/source/Billboard_Hot_100) and No. 15 on the [R&B chart](/source/Hot_R%26B%2FHip-Hop_Songs) in 1958.[2] The song was featured on his 1959 album, *[Ricky Sings Again](/source/Ricky_Sings_Again)*.[3] Nelson is accompanied on the recording by the vocal quartet [the Jordanaires](/source/The_Jordanaires).
