'''London Connects''' was jointly owned by the [Greater London Authority](/source/Greater_London_Authority) and [London Councils](/source/London_Councils). Its purpose was to improve public services in London and reduce their cost through collaborative use of technology. Partners included [London Health agencies](/source/NHS_London), [London Development Agency](/source/London_Development_Agency), [Transport for London](/source/Transport_for_London), [London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority](/source/London_Fire_and_Emergency_Planning_Authority), [Metropolitan Police Service](/source/Metropolitan_Police_Service), [London Grid for Learning](/source/London_Grid_for_Learning), [London Libraries Development Agency](/source/London_Libraries_Development_Agency), [London Metropolitan Network](/source/London_Metropolitan_Network), [Learning and Skills Council](/source/Learning_and_Skills_Council) and the [London Voluntary Services Council](/source/London_Voluntary_Service_Council). Achievements include the development of the [London Portal](/source/London_Portal) and the London [Public Service Network](/source/Public_Services_Network) which provides secure broadband links between London authorities.  

The [work programme](/source/work_programme) was kept under strict review and revised as deemed appropriate by the London Connects Board and multi-sector Steering Group. Board members were appointed either by the [Mayor of London](/source/Mayor_of_London) or by the Leaders' Committee of London Councils.

London Connects was also the first organisation to set up a Warning, Advice & Reporting Point (WARP). This service facilitates information sharing and helps the [London boroughs](/source/London_boroughs) in the fight against electronic attack.

The programme was disbanded in 2009.
