**London** is an [unincorporated community](/source/Unincorporated_area#United_States) located in the counties of [Dane](/source/Dane_County%2C_Wisconsin) and [Jefferson](/source/Jefferson_County%2C_Wisconsin) in the [U.S. state](/source/U.S._state) of [Wisconsin](/source/Wisconsin).[1][2] The Dane County portion of London is in the town of [Deerfield](/source/Deerfield_(town)%2C_Dane_County%2C_Wisconsin), while the Jefferson County portion is in the town of [Lake Mills](/source/Lake_Mills_(town)%2C_Wisconsin). London is on [Wisconsin Highway 134](/source/Wisconsin_Highway_134), 3 miles (4.8 km) north of [Cambridge](/source/Cambridge%2C_Wisconsin).

## History

A post office called London was established in 1882, and remained in operation until 1960.[3] A large share of the early settlers being natives of [London](/source/London), England caused the name to be selected.[4]

The [Glacial Drumlin State Trail](/source/Glacial_Drumlin_State_Trail) passes through London.[5]

## Notable people

- [Herman J. Severson](/source/Herman_J._Severson), Wisconsin State Senator and jurist, was principal of a school in London.[6]
