**Logseq** is a [free and open-source](/source/Free_and_open-source_software), [personal knowledge base](/source/Personal_knowledge_base) and [note-taking](/source/Note-taking) application which can store data locally. It supports both [Markdown](/source/Markdown) and [org-mode](/source/Org-mode) syntax.[1][2][3]

## History

Tienson Qin started Logseq as a platform to store interconnected information on infinite [graphs](/source/Graph_(discrete_mathematics)) which would run on any device.[1]

Logseq Inc was formed with An Vu, Huang Peng, Tienson Qin, and ZhiYuan Chen as founders, which raised over $4.1M for the growth.[3] This seed funding round included investments from [Stripe](/source/Stripe%2C_Inc.) CEO [Patrick Collison](/source/Patrick_Collison), [Shopify](/source/Shopify) CEO [Tobias Lütke](/source/Tobias_L%C3%BCtke), and ex-[GitHub](/source/GitHub) CEO [Nat Friedman](/source/Nat_Friedman).[1]

Logseq is being used at Google Brain, IDEO, Meta, Tesla, MIT, Stanford and Harvard.[1]
