**Logan Stieber** (born January 24, 1991) is an American former [freestyle](/source/Freestyle_wrestling) and [folkstyle wrestler](/source/Folkstyle), who competed internationally at [61 and 65 kilograms](/source/Wrestling_weight_classes#Men's_freestyle_wrestling). In the [Olympic year of 2016](/source/2016_Summer_Olympics), he won the [non-Olympic weight World Championship at 61 kg](/source/2016_World_Wrestling_Championships_%E2%80%93_Men's_freestyle_61_kg), and in 2018, he won a [Pan American](/source/2018_Pan_American_Wrestling_Championships) title.[1]

In folkstyle, Stieber is one of the most accomplished collegiate wrestlers in the history of the [NCAA](/source/National_Collegiate_Athletic_Association), having won [four NCAA Division I national championships](/source/NCAA_Division_I_Wrestling_Championships#Four-time_NCAA_champions), four [Big Ten Conference](/source/Big_Ten_Conference) championships, and the [Dan Hodge Trophy](/source/Dan_Hodge_Trophy) for the [Ohio State Buckeyes](/source/Ohio_State_Buckeyes_wrestling) during his career.[2]

In 2024, Stieber was inducted into the [National Wrestling Hall of Fame](/source/National_Wrestling_Hall_of_Fame_and_Museum) as a Distinguished Member.[3]

## Education and career

Stieber went to [Monroeville High School](/source/Monroeville_High_School_(Ohio)), in [Monroeville, Ohio](/source/Monroeville%2C_Ohio), and won five [Ohio High School Athletic Association](/source/Ohio_High_School_Athletic_Association) (OHSAA) state wrestling championships (four individually, and a team title for Monroeville in 2010), losing only once his entire high school career, to [David Taylor](/source/David_Taylor_(American_wrestler)) of [St. Paris Graham](/source/Graham_High_School_(St._Paris%2C_Ohio)). He was named the [Junior Hodge Trophy](/source/Dan_Hodge_Trophy#Junior_Hodge_Trophy_Winners) winner for 2010.[4] Stieber finished his Monroeville career with a record of 184-1, and his 179 straight wins is still an OHSAA record as of 2016.

Stieber later committed to Ohio State University, where he became one of the most decorated wrestlers in NCAA history.

Already a four-time Big Ten Champion, on March 21, 2015, Stieber became only the fourth wrestler in [NCAA](/source/NCAA_Division_I) history to win four individual National Championships. He also led the Ohio State Buckeyes to their first team National Championship for wrestling in school history.[5]

Stieber finished his NCAA career with a record of 119-3.

Following college, Stieber went on record as stating he would be training in hopes of joining [Team USA](/source/USA_Wrestling) for the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/2016_Summer_Olympics).[6] Stieber would later represent [Team USA](/source/United_States_national_team) on its 2017 World Team. Stieber retired in April 2019 and started coaching at the Ohio RTC.
