**Lockington Marshes** is an 11.3-hectare (28-acre) biological [Site of Special Scientific Interest](/source/Site_of_Special_Scientific_Interest) north of [Ratcliffe on Soar](/source/Ratcliffe_on_Soar) in [Leicestershire](/source/Leicestershire).[1][2]

This site in the floodplains of the [River Soar](/source/River_Soar) and [River Trent](/source/River_Trent) has a periodically flooded meadow, pools and one of the largest areas of willow [carr](/source/Carr_(landform)) in the county. The invertebrate fauna includes nationally rare beetles and flies, and scarce species such as the [water beetle](/source/Water_beetle) *[Batenus livens](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Batenus_livens&action=edit&redlink=1)* and the [weevil](/source/Weevil) *[anthribus fasciatus](/source/Anthribus_fasciatus)*.[3]

The site is private land with no public access.
