**Ljusdal** (Swedish: [\[ˈjʉ̌ːsdal\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Swedish))[2] is a [locality](/source/Urban_areas_in_Sweden) and the seat of [Ljusdal Municipality](/source/Ljusdal_Municipality), [Gävleborg County](/source/G%C3%A4vleborg_County), [Sweden](/source/Sweden) with 6,230 inhabitants in 2010.[1]

Ljusdal is situated on Riksväg 83 which runs between Tönnebro in [Söderhamn Municipality](/source/S%C3%B6derhamn_Municipality) in [Gävleborg County](/source/G%C3%A4vleborg_County) and [Ånge](/source/%C3%85nge) in [Västernorrland County](/source/V%C3%A4sternorrland_County). It is located beside the river [Ljusnan](/source/Ljusnan) which goes from [Bruksvallarna](/source/Bruksvallarna) to the [Gulf of Bothnia](/source/Gulf_of_Bothnia). Ljusdal is noted for having hosted the annual [Bandy World Cup](/source/Bandy_World_Cup) in the sport of [bandy](/source/Bandy) from 1974 to 2008.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

Three [Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland](/source/Decorated_Farmhouses_of_H%C3%A4lsingland) situated in Ljusdal Municipality were inscribed in 2012 on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.[3]
