# Littfe

The **Littfe** is a river of [North Rhine-Westphalia](/source/North_Rhine-Westphalia), [Germany](/source/Germany) in the township of [Kreuztal](/source/Kreuztal) ([Westphalia](/source/Westphalia)). Its length is 12.7 kilometres (7.9 mi). The well is southeast of [Welschen-Ennest](/source/Welschen-Ennest) (a part of [Kirchhundem](/source/Kirchhundem)) in the village of [Burgholdinghausen](/source/Burgholdinghausen). *Littfe* flows through [Littfeld](/source/Littfeld), the village that has got its name by the river, [Krombach](/source/Krombach_(Kreuztal)) and [Eichen](/source/Eichen_(Kreuztal)). In the centre of Kreuztal it flows into the river [Ferndorfbach](/source/Ferndorfbach).

## Origin of the name

The [name's origin](/source/Etymology) is built by the [Celtic](/source/Celtic_language) words *Let* and *apha*, which mean *loam* and *water*.
