***Lithodora*** is a [genus](/source/Genus) of [flowering plants](/source/Flowering_plant) in the [family](/source/Family_(taxonomy)) [Boraginaceae](/source/Boraginaceae), [native](/source/Native_plant) to southwestern Europe, southern Greece, Turkey and Algeria. They are low-growing, [evergreen](/source/Evergreen) [shrubs](/source/Shrubs) and subshrubs, producing 5-lobed blue or white flowers.[1] The [Greek](/source/Greek_language) *lithodora* literally means "stone gift", referring to the plant's preferred rocky habitats.[2] The genus *[Glandora](/source/Glandora)* was split from *Lithodora* in 2008.[3]

*Lithodora* species are often cultivated as ornamental plants which are especially suited to [rock gardens](/source/Rock_garden) or [raised beds](/source/Raised-bed_gardening).[1]
