Marrache served as a [Democratic](/source/Maine_Democratic_Party) [State Senator](/source/Maine_State_Senate) from [Maine](/source/Maine)'s 25th District, representing much of [Kennebec County](/source/Kennebec_County%2C_Maine), including population centers of [Waterville](/source/Waterville%2C_Maine) and [Winslow](/source/Winslow%2C_Maine) as well as two communities in [Somerset County](/source/Somerset_County%2C_Maine), including [Pittsfield](/source/Pittsfield%2C_Maine). She was first elected to the [Maine State Senate](/source/Maine_State_Senate) in 2006 and withdrew from re-election in 2010 after winning the uncontested Democratic nomination.
