''Linum cariense'' is a small [perennial plant](/source/perennial_plant) which grows in a [cushion](/source/Cushion_plant) manner from {{Cvt|1-6|cm|in|abbr=off}}. The leaves are usually a dull [grey-blue color](/source/Glabrousness_(botany)) and are {{Cvt|5-12|mm|in|abbr=off}} long with tiny hairs. Each leaf is tipped by what appears to be a small brown gland. Each flower is yellow and approximately {{Cvt|1.5-2.5|cm|in}} across. The flowers are typically in clusters of three or more, differentiating the species from the very similar ''[Linum verruciferum](/source/Linum_verruciferum)'' which has singular flowers.{{r|AGS}}
