Shell was also a member of the [Philadelphia Eagles](/source/Philadelphia_Eagles), [New Orleans VooDoo](/source/New_Orleans_VooDoo), [Calgary Stampeders](/source/Calgary_Stampeders) (where he helped the team win the [Grey Cup](/source/Grey_Cup)), [Toronto Argonauts](/source/Toronto_Argonauts) (where he was a 2-time CFL East All-Star), [BC Lions](/source/BC_Lions), and [Winnipeg Blue Bombers](/source/Winnipeg_Blue_Bombers).
Subsequent to his all-star career with the CFL, Shell taught physical education at [Jean Ribault High School](/source/Jean_Ribault_High_School) in Jacksonville, Florida and coach Football and Jackson High school. Shell died from a stroke in Florida on July 29, 2021, at the age 39.
