He is the [2001 Four Continents](/source/2001_Four_Continents_Figure_Skating_Championships) champion, the 2004 [Grand Prix Final](/source/Grand_Prix_of_Figure_Skating_Final) bronze medalist, and a six-time [Chinese national](/source/Chinese_Figure_Skating_Championships) champion. Li placed as high as fourth at the World Championships ([2003](/source/2003_World_Figure_Skating_Championships)) and competed twice at the Winter Olympics.
