# Lexi Smith

**Alexis Marie Smith** (born August 18, 1996) is an American [softball](/source/Softball) coach and former player. She attended [Temple High School](/source/Temple_High_School_(Texas)) in [Temple, Texas](/source/Temple,_Texas). She later attended [Temple College](/source/Temple_College) for two years,[2][3] before transferring to [Texas A&M University](/source/Texas_A%26M_University), where she [pitched](/source/Pitcher) for the [Texas A&M Aggies softball](/source/Texas_A%26M_Aggies_softball) team.[4][5][6][7][8] During her junior season in 2017, Smith led the Aggies to the [2017 Women's College World Series](/source/2017_Women's_College_World_Series) first round, where they fell to [UCLA](/source/UCLA_Bruins_softball), 8–2.[9] Smith was named the pitching coach at [Northwestern State University](/source/Northwestern_State_University) on August 12, 2021.[10]
