**Alexia "Lexi" Potter** (born 17 August 2006) is an English professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder) for [Chelsea](/source/Chelsea_F.C._Women) and the [England under-23 national team](/source/England_women's_national_under-23_football_team). A product of the Chelsea academy, she previously captained the [England under-17s](/source/England_women's_national_under-17_football_team).

## Youth career

With Chelsea U16s, Potter is a Youth Cup and Academy Cup winner,[3] having represented the club at WSL Academy League level.[4]

## Club career

On 3 September 2023, at 17 years-old, Potter became the youngest female player in England to sign a professional football contract.[5] A product of the Chelsea academy, having been with the club from 8 years-old, she joined [Chelsea](/source/Chelsea_F.C._Women) committing to the club until summer 2026.[3] She then joined [Crystal Palace](/source/Crystal_Palace_F.C._(Women)) for the [2023–24 season](/source/2023%E2%80%9324_Women's_Championship).[6][7] On 12 November 2023, as a 78th-minute substitute, Potter scored her debut professional goal for Crystal Palace, within 12 minutes, in a 3–2 victory over [Lewes](/source/Lewes_F.C._Women).[8]

On 31 August 2024, Potter signed a new four-year contract with Chelsea and returned to Crystal Palace on loan for the [2024–25 season](/source/2024%E2%80%9325_Crystal_Palace_F.C._(Women)_season).[9][10]

Potter made her first start in the [Women's Super League](/source/Women's_Super_League) on 18 March 2026, where she scored the winner, her first goal for Chelsea, in a 2–1 win over [Brighton](/source/Brighton_%26_Hove_Albion_W.F.C.).[11]

## International career

On 30 March 2022, with [England under-17s](/source/England_women's_national_under-17_football_team), Potter scored her debut youth international goal within 8 minutes against [Croatia](/source/Croatia_women's_national_under-17_football_team), set up by [Ava Baker](/source/Ava_Baker), in an 8–0 win for [U17 Championship qualification](/source/2022_UEFA_Women's_Under-17_Championship_qualification).[12][13]

On 7 October 2022, for [2023 U17 Championship qualification](/source/2023_UEFA_Women's_Under-17_Championship_qualification), she [captained](/source/Captain_(association_football)) the England U17 team, scoring two goals in an 11–0 win over [Ukraine](/source/Ukraine_women's_national_under-17_football_team),[14] followed by another two goals against [Belgium](/source/Belgium_women's_national_under-17_football_team) on 15 March 2023,[15] helping the team to qualify for the [final tournament](/source/2023_UEFA_Women's_Under-17_Championship) and reach the semi-finals.[6]

On 26 September 2023, with the [under-19s](/source/England_women's_national_under-19_football_team), Potter provided a goal in a 3–3 draw with [Germany](/source/Germany_women's_national_under-19_football_team),[16] as well as an assist to [Poppy Pritchard](/source/Poppy_Pritchard).[17] On 27 October 2023, for [U19 Championship qualification](/source/2024_UEFA_Women's_Under-19_Championship_qualification), she scored the fourth goal in a 6–1 victory over Wales,[18] followed by the final goal in a 2–0 against [Switzerland](/source/Switzerland_women's_national_under-19_football_team), while playing in the [number 10](/source/Squad_number_(association_football)#England) role on 3 April 2024.[19] On 14 July in the [final tournament](/source/2024_UEFA_Women's_Under-19_Championship), Potter scored the ninth goal in England's 10–0 victory over [Lithuania](/source/Lithuania_women's_national_under-19_football_team) in the opening group stage match.[20]
