# Lexi Bender

**Alexandra "Lexi" Bender** (born July 22, 1993) is a former American professional [ice hockey](/source/Ice_hockey) player for the [Boston Pride](/source/Boston_Pride) of the [National Women's Hockey League (NWHL)](/source/National_Women's_Hockey_League_(2015%E2%80%93)).

## Personal life

During college, Bender played in the [NCAA](/source/National_Collegiate_Athletic_Association) for [Boston College](/source/Boston_College) in the [women's ice hockey team](/source/Boston_College_Eagles_women's_ice_hockey).[1]

## NWHL

Bender was drafted 15th overall in the [2015 NWHL draft](/source/2015_NWHL_draft) by the [Boston Pride](/source/Boston_Pride). In 2016, Bender signed a one-year contract to play for the Boston Pride in the [2016/17 season](/source/2016%E2%80%9317_Boston_Pride_season).[2] Bender appeared in all 17 regular season games for the franchise, and two postseason games.[3]

On May 23, 2017, it was announced that Bender had re-signed to play with the Boston Pride for their 2017/18 season.[4] Bender participated in the [3rd NWHL All-Star Game](/source/3rd_NWHL_All-Star_Game).[5]
