# Lewis Carmichael

**Lewis Carmichael** (born 1995) is a former [Scotland](/source/Scotland_national_rugby_union_team) international [rugby union](/source/Rugby_union) player who last played for [Edinburgh Rugby](/source/Edinburgh_Rugby) in the [Pro14](/source/Pro14).

At the conclusion of the [2020–21 Pro14 season](/source/2020%E2%80%9321_Pro14) Carmichael announced his retirement from professional rugby on medical advice at the age of 26.[1]

He won the 2014 RBS Premiership title with Melrose.

### Professional career

He played for [Edinburgh Rugby](/source/Edinburgh_Rugby) in the [Pro14](/source/Pro14).

### International career

Carmichael received his first senior cap against [Canada](/source/Canada_national_rugby_union_team) on the 9 June 2018.[2] He scored a try on his debut.[3]
