It lies between the [Mediterranean Sea](/source/Mediterranean_Sea) and the lagoon [Étang de Leucate](/source/%C3%89tang_de_Leucate).

==Geography==

Leucate is on the Mediterranean coast of France. It is part of the eastern [Corbières Massif](/source/Corbi%C3%A8res_Massif), which are called the Corbières maritimes. It is around {{convert|30|km|mi|abbr=on}} south of [Narbonne](/source/Narbonne), and around {{convert|30|km|mi|abbr=on}} north of [Perpignan](/source/Perpignan).

On a clear day, the [Phare du Cap Leucate](/source/Phare_du_Cap_Leucate) offers a view over the French Mediterranean Sea from the Spanish border to the south to the [Camargue](/source/Camargue) to the east.
