He stated about the EP that its songs were initially written in 2022-2023.[12] The first single released was "Making Room", released on November 1, 2024 (2024-11-01).[13][14] The following single, "Thank You for the Cross", was released on January 31, 2025 (2025-01-31).[3][15] *Let the Church Sing* was inspired by his work with the Church of Whitestone in [Austin](/source/Austin%2C_Texas), [Texas](/source/Texas), which he [pastors](/source/Pastor) and had founded in January 2024 (2024-01).[6][7] The church set the record for the largest attendance of any American church within the first day, with more than 4,000 attendants.[9][10][11] Wells stated that "A lot of songs came from the birth of our church."[16][17] Following the release of the EP, Wells released a book, titled *Joy Bomb: Unleash Jesus’s Explosive Joy for an Extraordinary Life*.
