**Letňany** is a cadastral area of [Prague](/source/Prague), Czech Republic. It was founded in 1307 and became part of Prague in 1968. It has been included in [Prague 18](/source/Prague_18) since 2001, having previously been in the local government district of Prague-Letňany, and it has its own [cadastral area](/source/Cadastral_community) (also called "Prague 18").

There is a large shopping mall, [Obchodní centrum Letňany](/source/Obchodn%C3%AD_centrum_Let%C5%88any), with an area in excess of 125,000 m2.[2]

Letňany was the centre of Czech aircraft production, with major aviation companies such as [Avia](/source/Avia_Motors) and [Letov](/source/Letov_Kbely), but as the industry gradually declined, Letňany became a mostly residential district. There are two airports: the non-public international[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*] Letňany Airport and [Kbely](/source/Prague%E2%80%93Kbely_Airport) military airport.
