**Lesley Walker** (27 July 1945 – 2 December 2025) was a British film and television editor with more than 30 feature film credits. She came into prominence in the 1980s, when she "developed a fast and snappy editing style in the decade, with *[A Letter to Brezhnev](/source/Letter_to_Brezhnev)* (1985), *[Mona Lisa](/source/Mona_Lisa_(film))* (1986), *[Cry Freedom](/source/Cry_Freedom)* (1987), and *[Shirley Valentine](/source/Shirley_Valentine_(film))* (1989)."[1] She worked extensively with directors [Terry Gilliam](/source/Terry_Gilliam)[2] and [Richard Attenborough](/source/Richard_Attenborough).[3]

Walker's work was honoured by nominations for the [BAFTA Award for Best Editing](/source/BAFTA_Award_for_Best_Editing) (*Mona Lisa* (1986) and *Cry Freedom* (1987)), for the [Genie Award for Best Achievement in Editing](/source/Genie_Award_for_Best_Achievement_in_Editing) (*[Tideland](/source/Tideland_(film))* (2005)), and the [American Cinema Editors Eddie Award](/source/American_Cinema_Editors#Eddie_Awards) (*[Mamma Mia!](/source/Mamma_Mia!_(film))* (2008)).

Walker died on 2 December 2025, at the age of 80.[4][5]
