**Lepsøy Chapel** ([Norwegian](/source/Norwegian_language): *Lepsøy bedehuskapell*) is a [chapel](/source/Chapel) of the [Church of Norway](/source/Church_of_Norway) in [Haram Municipality](/source/Haram_Municipality) in [Møre og Romsdal](/source/M%C3%B8re_og_Romsdal) county, [Norway](/source/Norway). It is located on the southern part of the island of [Lepsøya](/source/Leps%C3%B8ya). It is an [annex chapel](/source/Annex_chapel) for the *Haram og Fjørtoft* [parish](/source/Parish) which is part of the [Nordre Sunnmøre prosti](/source/Nordre_Sunnm%C3%B8re_prosti) ([deanery](/source/Deanery)) in the [Diocese of Møre](/source/Diocese_of_M%C3%B8re). The white, wooden church was built in a [long church](/source/Long_church) design in 1896 using plans drawn up by the [architect](/source/Architect) . The church seats about 150 people.[1]

## History

The island of Lepsøya was given permission to build a small prayer house in 1896. In 1956, the building was renovated and enlarged as part of an upgrade to the status of [annex chapel](/source/Annex_chapel) for the parish. It was [consecrated](/source/Consecrated) in 1956. The chapel doesn't have a graveyard at the site, but there is a [cemetery](/source/Cemetery) located about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) to the north that is used by the chapel.[2]
