This family has no subfamilies.

Members of extant family [Neolepetopsidae](/source/Neolepetopsidae) probably developed from Lepetopsidae.[1]

## Taxonomy

Lepetopsidae belongs to superfamily [Neolepetopsoidea](/source/Neolepetopsoidea) according to the [taxonomy of the Gastropoda by Bouchet & Rocroi, 2005](/source/Taxonomy_of_the_Gastropoda_(Bouchet_%26_Rocroi%2C_2005))).

Neolepetopsoidea was synonymized with [Lottioidea](/source/Lottioidea) so Lepetopsidae was moved to superfamily Lottioidea in [World Register of Marine Species](/source/World_Register_of_Marine_Species).[2]
