**Lemwerder** (German pronunciation: [\[ˈlɛmvɛʁdɐ\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Standard_German)) is a municipality in the district of [Wesermarsch](/source/Wesermarsch), in [Lower Saxony](/source/Lower_Saxony), [Germany](/source/Germany). It is on the left bank of the [Weser](/source/Weser), approximately 27 kilometres (17 mi) east of [Oldenburg](/source/Oldenburg_(city)), and 17 kilometres (11 mi) northwest of the centre of [Bremen](/source/Bremen).

Since April 2021, Lemwerder has been governed by Mayor Christina Winkelmann.[1]

The shipbuilding companies [Lürssen](/source/L%C3%BCrssen) and [Abeking & Rasmussen](/source/Abeking_%26_Rasmussen) both have shipyards in Lemwerder that specialise in the construction of [superyachts](/source/Superyacht).[3][4]
