It is located on the southern shore of the mouth of the [Leinesfjorden](/source/Leinesfjorden_(fjord)), about {{convert|20|km}} west of [Nordfold](/source/Nordfold).  The villages of [Leinesfjorden](/source/Leinesfjorden) and [Sørskot](/source/S%C3%B8rskot) are located a few kilometres across the fjord on the opposite shore.
