# Leif Solheim

**Leif Sigurd Solheim** (14 July 1932 – 12 July 2024) was a Norwegian [ice hockey](/source/Ice_hockey) player. His achievements include winning a bronze medal with [Norway](/source/Norway_men's_national_ice_hockey_team) at the 1951 [Ice Hockey European Championships](/source/Ice_Hockey_European_Championships). He was awarded [Gullpucken](/source/Gullpucken) in 1959.

## Career

Solheim played for [Furuset IF](/source/Furuset_IF)[1] and the [Norway national team](/source/Norway_men's_national_ice_hockey_team), and participated at the [Winter Olympics](/source/Winter_Olympics) in 1952.[2] He won a bronze medal with Norway at the 1951 [Ice Hockey European Championships](/source/Ice_Hockey_European_Championships) in Paris.[3]

He was awarded [Gullpucken](/source/Gullpucken) as best Norwegian ice hockey player in 1959, and was the first recipient of the prize.[4]

## Personal life and death

Born in Oslo on 14 July 1932,[1] Solheim was a brother of Olympian ice hockey player [Øivind Solheim](/source/%C3%98ivind_Solheim).[2]

Solheim died on 12 July 2024, at the age of 91.[5]
