# Lefty Harvey

**Richard Harvey** (1890 – death unknown), nicknamed "**Lefty**", was an American [Negro league](/source/Negro_league) [pitcher](/source/Pitcher) between 1912 and 1921.

Harvey, a native of [Nashville, Tennessee](/source/Nashville,_Tennessee), made his Negro league debut in 1912 with the [Chicago Giants](/source/Chicago_Giants) and [St. Louis Giants](/source/St._Louis_Giants). He went on to play for the [Brooklyn Royal Giants](/source/Brooklyn_Royal_Giants), [Lincoln Giants](/source/Lincoln_Giants), and [Lincoln Stars](/source/Lincoln_Stars_(baseball)), and finished his career in 1921 with a brief stint with the [Bacharach Giants](/source/Bacharach_Giants).[1][2]
