Lead(II) fluoride can be prepared by treating [lead(II) hydroxide](/source/lead(II)_hydroxide) or [lead(II) carbonate](/source/lead(II)_carbonate) with [hydrofluoric acid](/source/hydrofluoric_acid):<ref name=Ullmann/>
