The ferry operates between the town of [Lawrence](/source/Lawrence%2C_New_South_Wales) and [Woodford Island](/source/Woodford_Island), and forms part of the route east from Lawrence to the coast. It is the busiest vehicular ferry in New South Wales.[1][2] The ferry is operated by a [private sector](/source/Private_sector) operator under contract to [Transport for NSW](/source/Transport_for_NSW). The ferry operates on demand 24 hours day, 7 days a week.
